A Unique Freedom Run

From Messolonghi to Nafplio — a lone runner following in the footsteps of the Exodus heroes.

On Thursday the 28th, at 7:00 in the morning, the event will begin from Makri Bastion, at the old Railway Station, one of the three bastions of the Exodus — the other two being Riga and Montalambert.

George Pantazis, a descendant of the Souliotes and from the same family line as our own George Pantazis, will run not for victory but, as he says, out of duty to his ancestors.

It will be a unique moment. Something truly significant is beginning for the City and for the country. We must all be there to applaud and encourage him.

He will be accompanied by members of the Organizing Committee representing the following associations: the International Brotherhood of Descendants of the Free Besieged, the Archaeological and Historical Society of Western Central Greece, the International Academy of Freedom, as well as the associations of Analipsiotes, Achladokastrites, and Dorian Scientists.

Head of the organization is George Diamantis, a well-known runner and founder of the Pheidippides Run.
